We're back with a new episode!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbn5aDPK4o4
This time we take a look at some popular arcade games and see how they fared on home consoles. Sometimes the conversions turned out pretty good, sometimes not-so-good and other times they turned into completely different games!

I dislike videos where people play games, but I actually really enjoyed this. Great comparisons, and lasted just long enough. Good job!

Cool video as usual, but it should be noted that the NES Ninja Gaiden was not meant to be a port of the arcade Ninja Gaiden. The two games were developed concurrently by separate teams at Tecmo. There's an interview with one of the game's developers over at Hardcore Gaming 101 that explains this.
Re: Game Sack - Arcade vs Console
You sir, are correct. Why anyone would consider it a port mystifies me, especially in a review.Ghegs wrote:It should be noted that the NES Ninja Gaiden was not meant to be a port of the arcade Ninja Gaiden.
Re: Game Sack - Arcade vs Console
Who said it was a port? Did you guys even watch the show?
Re: Game Sack - Arcade vs Console
They didn't say it was port -- just that it came to the NES a year later and that it was quite different than the arcade version.
I'm "mystified" about why the air of snobby elitism comes to the surface whenever someone doesn't know minute detail about a game or series. It looks like these guys were just having a fun time comparing home versions to their arcade counterparts, not offering a history lesson.

A very good video. I can't believe we went 3 weeks without the Sack. Does that mean we get a new ep next week?
KIDDING
I may not have the Sega love as Joe does in his videos (but I love the Dreamcast I swear!) However, I have tons of memories of their arcade games and I'm happy to see good ones featured. I played Thunder Blade in the late 90s in a poorly maintained cabinet, it appeared to be an upright. Shinobi was a favorite at the deli/restaurant that had great games in the 80s, and E-Swat I played on a cruise ship while we were on vacation in 1995. THANK YOU OFFICER! was ridiculed many times.
