I was referring to the modchip possibly having failed. I didn't realize you soldered onto the actual IC chip.

I am not familiar with the racketboy chip, I use consolegoods.co.uk. I just looked at the racketboy install guide and that doesn't look fun having to solder onto the actual 32-pin IC chip.

Red orbs on the main screen when they aren't pumping sound is a really bad sign to my knowledge. You may have damaged the IC chip, I don't know for certain.

I am also assuming the Saturn worked before you attempted to mod it. The issue has been isolated to the Saturn at this point though if the chip has been removed.

Red orbs usually mean the drive isn't connected to the motherboard. Check to make sure all connections are secure.
