yeah- here is an engadget article about it. Long and short of it- a guy made a wii iso loader that boots up through the homebrew channel. It ran a burned copy of zelda. It isn't released yet, but will probably come sometime soon.executioner wrote:video removed, do you have more info?

I have a D2pro with the clipchip and all I had to do was solder 4 wire for region free support.. So I can play backups already ... but.. the fact that USB storage is on its way and being able to play DVD Images from that USB storage will be a HUGE deal for me.
Can't wait to see what come out of this...

(Too lazy to sit through a video or even click a few links at the moment.)
Is this similar to the Twilight Hack?

It's an app that runs through the homebrew channel. I'm too lazy to explain it to you in detail.
The guy who made it isn't going to update anymore because it was leaked, but that should be no problem for someone else to follow up maybe or himself to rethink quitting. Great news in all!

you need the twilight hack to install it. Twilight hack puts the homebrew channel in. The homebrew channel runs the wii iso loader. It is similar to the xbox soft mod in that it lets you play burns without opening and installing a modchip.glynnahab wrote:(Too lazy to sit through a video or even click a few links at the moment.)

EDIT: i think.... I just looked for information on installation and use adn to be honest, it isn't ready. Not really worth looking for or using. It can only run a handful of games, and it is certainly not user friendly like the rest of the homebrew channel stuff is. Probably because it isn't done, and i guess isn't going to be done. Sucks. Though I'm sure someone will pick up the reins and work on something similar down the line.
