How much should I pay for a Famicom?
How much should I pay for a Famicom?
Hey, this is my first post here and hopefully the first of many! I'm looking at getting into collecting Japanese consoles/games and I'm just wondering how much I should be paying for a Famicom. I've seen eBay prices ranging from £20-£40 plus postage which seems a little expensive. If there any experienced collectors that could tell me the most I should be paying for one that'd be great.

I paid $35 USD for one very recently with AC and no RF and minimal yellowing. (which would be about 22 £/ most yellowing can be fixed.) It's a neat little system but the controller cords are built into it, so you have to be RIGHT ON IT to actually play. ...it's gonna suck when I get my FDS. ;-;

I paid $30 for mine excluding shipping.

Well all that can be solved by getting one of these, and then even have a longer cord by using a compatible controller extension cable.Bagel wrote:It's a neat little system but the controller cords are built into it, so you have to be RIGHT ON IT to actually play. ...it's gonna suck when I get my FDS. ;-;

You may have to have one shipped from Japan if you can't find one locally, so in addition to price for the unit, keep an eye on the cost and method of shipping.
