I guess it's personal preference, but I prefer Beyonce in the pic where she is darker, not just cause of the skin tone but also rounder figure.

I also always find it weird how different cultures have different ideals about skin tones. In England white people either do their best to get a tan or get a fake tan, cause we think it looks healthy, and if you're too white you look like a ghost. In China all the girls wanna be as white as possible, assume it's the same in Japan but don't know. Here they associate dark skin with farmers who are out in the sun all day, and white skin with royalty who would chill indoors or under their servant's umbrellas. I prefer a bit of colour!

In short:
Skinny and pale - No
Round (not literally round but you know what I mean) and colourful - Hell yeah!

This thread totally reminds me of a producer I once worked with at a previous studio where I was employed. The studio had just opened up, and was the topic of an article in a local magazine to get the word out. The producer had to go through a photoshoot for a few images in the article. A few days later, he showed me a few of the images, the originals + the ones the photographer "touched up". Now the producer I was working with was black, all the originals looked great. However the ones the photographer "touched up" were laughably terrible. Basically the only changes he made were brightening the producers skin tone (which imo wasn't needed in the first place), but he made it this reeeeally ugly grey colour. I swear the tone made the producer look like a corpse. I honestly thought it was a joke, but apparently it wasn't. To this day i've no idea which image was chosen for the article, but if it was that weird grey looking one... my god.
