UK power for SCPH-77,000 PS2

Post by Spyke »

Hi,

I will soon be receiving a Japanese SCPH-77,000 PS2 console courtesy of our friend on here, Toktogul. It being sourced and sent from Japan, I need to know what I'll need to power it on UK mains supply.

Anybody have the definitive answer so I can be sure to have the necessary hardware before it arrives? Many thanks if you can advise,

Ant :)

Actually power adapter SCPH-70100 is rated for input of 100-240V 50/60hz.

If that generation of PS2 supports it.
Lum fan.

Yea, i'm pretty sure all you need is an adapter and it will transfer to the right current for the console.

I will get your PS2 once I get home tonight, so i'll check the adapter and what it says on it. I'll post a picture of the adapter, maybe other people well be able to confirm, as I do not know much about Europe, other that their electricity level is way too high :)

I got the console. Here's a picture of the power supply and the console. I'm pretty sure it can be played by itself in europe with the right adapter

Hi,

Console looks great thanks!

Ok, I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to electricity. I mean I've plugged things in that were "supposed" to work fine, and they've gone up in a puff of smoke, so when it comes to "adapters" - what sort of adapter are we talking about?

Thanks!

Simply something that will make the plug fit in your electricity hole :)

the box you see is a power converter. they have the same for laptop power supply. I used my laptop in russia and japan without any problem. Same goes with my alienware computer from america.

it says on the top of it that it will play from 100-240 volts.

I'm pretty sure they use the same cable for all the region, simply changing the cord with the plug according to the region.

did you get my mail with all the pics?

It's plug in play.

U.S is 120 Volts, 60Hz.
U.K is 230 Volts, 50Hz.
Japan is 100 Volts but 50Hz or 60Hz or depending on region.

All are within the spec of that power supply.
