You could download the remake they put on the three consoles as digital downloads as well as smartphones. Same game, prettier graphics.prfsnl_gmr wrote:I'll jump in on this one...
Nectaris: Military Madness (PS1) - I enjoy turn-based military strategy games, and I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Nonetheless, my armies are always hopelessly, hopelessly outnumbered in every battle, and the AI will crush me if I make even the slightest tactical error. Moreover, the battles take quite a while even after adjusting the settings for more efficient play. Finally, I can only play the game is on a console, and I do most of my gaming on handhelds. Right now, I am at the point now where I am considering purchasing a PSP and modding it just so that I can finally get through this game.

Are they the same? I thought that those games were simply remakes of the TG16 game. That said, if my wife will ever let me use her iPad, I just might download one of those games.

The Playstation game is a remake of the TG-16 game. So they're all the same gameplay-wise.

The PS1 game contains a remake of the TG16 game, but the main campaign in the PS1 game is a lot longer/more difficult. (You actually have to complete the Ps1 campaign before the game will give you access to the TG16 maps. You also have to complete the main campaign before it will give you access to the two-player mode...
.) That said, the mechanics are admittedly the same.

I stopped at the card game. I don't want to be forced to play a shitty card game in an otherwise excellent RPG.Hazerd wrote:Also i need to add Final Fantasy IX, gotten as far as Conde Petie, on 2 new game files! 2!!!, i stopped playing in the same spot, what the hell!

Retro City Rampage - One mission has you following a vehicle without being spotted, while also having to refill your car's gas. It's a loooooong mission. After failing multiple times and having to start over again from the beginning, I just stopped caring.
Note to developers. They're called FUCKING CHECKPOINTS!
Try putting them into your games and see how many more players will actually finish them.
Probably one of the top five reasons I stop playing many games.

Unlike VIII, there is very little you gain from playing the card game in IX, so if you want to skip it, you wouldn't really be missing out. Its worth experiencing the rest of the game, even if you miss one item or something.o.pwuaioc wrote:I stopped at the card game. And that one tournament is the only one, the card game isn't a part of the game at all after that.

Sadly my list of games started but not completed it much much longer than the ones completed. Thats the problem with owning too many games or simply being A.D.D. when it comes to long storyline games. If its over 15 hours, there is a high likely hood I wont complete it.

I think I have the same problem. I have a very difficult time completing games that push that 15-20 hr mark. Lately, I've been trying to avoid games like that so I can actually finish them. I use howlongtobeat.com to kinda help me decide on what I want to play. It's not the best practice in the world since I'm sure I'm missing out on some great games that are longer than 20 hours but I know my habits and limits.8bit wrote:Sadly my list of games started but not completed it much much longer than the ones completed. Ocarina of Time. I've tried because so many people tell what in incredibly awesome game it is. But I always lose interest. Then by the time I go back to it, I have to start over because it's been so long.
It just doesn't have that same magic that the 2D Zeldas had for me.
