Yea. But the lack of Mario, higher entry price, and NECESSARY PROPRIETARY memory cards don't help. :( I really want this thing to succeed. It'll never match Nintendo's sales, but if it at least matches PSP sales and does well enough to warrant a successor I will be happy.

Edit: Curious about how it is selling in Japan now with that price drop. Hope that becomes world wide soon

I want it to succeed too. It does seem like people forget that 2nd place doesn't necessarily mean you lost. The PSP is a distant second to the DS and was profitable (from what I understand) to Sony.

I never understood the mentality that some people take in regards to a systems success. Seriously, competition is a GOOD thing and I want both Vita and 3DS to do well. Likewise, I want Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony to all have their success in the console market as well.

I can understand enjoying one over the other but to want competition to fail is not a good thing. You should see the guys over at GameFAQs... wow.

Yea. That makes no sense. I want everyone to do well. I certainly have preferences but I would be happy with most any console/portable. They all have worthwhile libraries.

Well, the PSP had the special problem of completely losing support in the US, leading to a bunch of what looked like really good games not making it over seas.

But PSP and Vita are region free. For me that is huge. Taiko no Tatsujin, iDOLM@STER, Project DIVA, etc. don't make it here? No problem!

I agree... Even Xbox I think has a place in the console business, although I'm not sure I agree with some of their recent decisions or rumors regarding the NextBox.. We shall see though.. The only thing I hated about last gen was how Nintendo dominated because of the casual market, putting less emphasis on the core games when the gen started... Thing recovered in time though.. I really hope the PS4 and Orbis doesn't start out the gate as slow as the Wii U or both could be in trouble.. Sony with their obvious financial woes and MS needed to put more focus on recovering their lost marketshare of Windows 8 due to the boom of Google and Apple..

Free Vita games as part of Sony celebrating its one year anniversary - available now:

Wild Arms, Patapon, Piyotama, Patchwork Heroes. If you're searching them (US PSN). Needs to be DL from Vita Store.

----

I just finished downloading all of them. Very cool - and free - promotion.
