Is there any info given out on must have games for this yet? Or really anything in depth on how the system actually works?
Like someone else said, my main problem with this is figuring out how this is a different experience from my computer. I mean, maybe it isn't since after all one could say something like the Xbox is just a PC. But I am curious if I were to buy the Ouya, would it be totally redundant?

Well if its anything like the Android App/Iphone App Market, it will be over-saturated with 100 games with a similar name, AKA mostly shovelware.Violent By Design wrote:Is there any info given out on must have games for this yet? Or really anything in depth on how the system actually works?

I've had similar thoughts about OUYA and considering the very low entry price point I think I might take a shot with it but I gotta wait till June to get it.J T wrote:Strangely, the OUYA feels more new and exciting to me than the PS4, Wii-U, or XBox720. I think it's because they aren't just pushing a hardware upgrade like all the big boys are. OUYA is pushing a business philosophy upgrade for console owners. It's about being open. It's about freedom. It's about flexibility. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have all sought more control over how you game and added more rules, restrictions, DRM, and walled gardens. OUYA feels like a breath of fresh air.
I might buy one. I like its indie DIY spirit. I just need to figure out how it's any different than a PC.

It's different from a PC for the same reason that consoles have always been different from PCs. I know the PC vs console argument has been raging since the beginning of time, but it seems to me that it's the same pros/cons as usual.

I would like to know more about purchasing games. So, they'll be digital downloads. It seems the Ouya has 8GB internal memory for storing games, with the option to add more memory via USB. But, is there gonna be a sort of app store to download the games from, similar to the Android market or even PSN? If so, who's handling this app store that'll be processing my credit card? I guess that's what I'm driving at. If I had an Ouya, I would wanna be sure my credit card info is secure.

Another cool thing I've read on their website is that they almost encourage you to open it up. They tell you that it's held together with standard screws (as oppose to security screws) so it's easy to open up and take a peak inside. If I ever got one, probably the first thing I'd do with it is open it up.

Ouya is doing their own marketplace/front end as I understand. I see it kind of like Steam is hosted on Windows/Linux/OS X, Ouya will have their app hosted by Android. Probably a big reason they can be so open is that it'll all just be linked to your account anyway.Ziggy587 wrote:I would like to know more about purchasing games. So, they'll be digital downloads. Ouya.tv is the real website - I think that other one is a fan site, although cool to know there are two emulators under development. Once they get MAME running on this, it'll be great.
I did the Kickstarter for this so I guess mine comes next month. I know they talked about a Final Fantasy game (III?) that was being ported specifically for the Ouya.

So. We have a ship date for backers, and a few new exclusives and ports confirmed as well.
Older. Not wiser.
