Owned it for years - never actually played it. Is it enjoyable in off-line mode? As I recall, yr playing online, right?noiseredux wrote:exactly 10 hrs into PSO now. It took me over an hour to do one quest in the Caves. Insane. Leveled up twice (to lvl 12) on that one mission... the one where you have to bring cake back to someone. This game is just way too addicting.

Re: RPG Progress Report
The thing that annoyed me was that you were forced to play offline to make any progress. You could only start an online game at the level you had reached offline. It blew fat nuts for my friend and I who only wanted to play online together.
Selling half my NES/SNES/PS1 collection (ending Dec 1):

I've easily logged in over 500 hours on PSO, without once ever going online. My girl and I actually just started up 2 new characters (We play split-screen on the GC port), and have been playing non-stop the past couple weeks.
What class and section ID are you playing? And what version of the game?

Chaz, GCN PSO 1 and II, or PSO I and II Plus? Also, do you know the difference between the 2?

I wish I had Plus, but I don't.mjmjr25 wrote:Chaz, GCN PSO 1 and II, or PSO I and II Plus? Also, do you know the difference between the 2?
The only difference I know of is that they allow access to an area that is only available online in the non-plus version. This area (The Control Center) is the only place that the rarest sword in the game, the Sealed J-Sword, drops, along with some other items that can't be found in other areas offline.
I think most people want the Plus version for a shot at that sword though, as the other really high-end items available there are also available in other areas accessible in the normal game.
There could be other minor changes, but that is the big one. Which one do you have?

chaz, I'm playing dreamcast v2... i'm a hucast. and though he's awesome w swords i love sniping stuff w handguns. i'm gonna get the strat guide to learn the game deeper. like i've been leveling up my mag but no idea what that even does yet. i figure all this offline learning and leveling will make online even more fun later.
