Nice score - I think my previous high was mid 500K, but that was awhile back and I know i'm "better" now, so hoping to get some marked improvement on that.
Thanks for the tip on the unibios, will def try that on startup when I play again on Wednesday.
Scores updated.

Re: AERO FIGHTERS / SONIC WINGS 1 2 3 Special - Hi-Score Thr
Fast notes:
- If you are playing Sonic Wings Special/Aero Fighters Limited on MAME, you will also need the "vspsx.zip" file which is a special Playstation BIOS to mimic the hardware this game was originally on.
- On Sonic Wings/Aero Fighters 3, there are branching paths. To pick one, when you see the purple plane after defeating certain bosses, shoot either the left wing first (generally easier path) or the right wing first (generally difficult path). An image of the available paths can be seen here and this shmups.org thread has everyone putting an A or B (from left to right for 2 path stages) and an A B or C (from left to right for 3 path stages) when posting their scores.

What region are you guys playing these on? I want to join in on the action!
Re: AERO FIGHTERS / SONIC WINGS 1 2 3 Special - Hi-Score Thr
I've played Sonic Wings Special a fair bit on the PSP and it seems like a different game to Sonic Wings Limited.
They do share some stages, but the scoring works a bit differently (you collect the coins at the top of the screen in SWS for big points, but it's the bottom of the screen in SWL - though it's not quite as simple as that, I think it depends how long the coin had been on screen as well). The characters are the same, but some of them have slightly different weapons.
Special is also easier - I could get to the final stage in it (unfortuntely I don't have any high scores saved
) but the bullet patterns are denser and faster in Limited, so I don't think you can really compare scores between the two.
It gets more confusing because there's also Aero Fighters Special, which is the Taiwan arcade release of Sonic Wings Limited...
