O xbox Component ghosting

Post by vlame »

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0761147086

i ordered this cable, when using xbmc with 720p i can see very bad ghosting of the image.
just by looking at it, text would have a whole other outline as thick as it's self but to the right.

the one pictured has a ferrite core, i didnt get one like that.

The cable has a 20mm circumference so the diameter would be less than 7mm.

i was thinking of buying one for it:

or maybe this one:

anybody have any ideas? im discussing it with the seller too.

A ferrite bead might help, but of course that's annoying that they are using a stock picture that yours didn't have one. Did you try moving the wire away from others too, just to see if it changed things?

What brand are those component cables or yours?

I recently purchased the official Xbox AV HD pack. It's kind of a drag having a box that connects to the console and the TV, but it works very well.

Generic brand.

i tried thru a component switch box, directly to tv, not using audio.

do you think it could just be line noise? if i try the wire as the only thing connected to the tv, wouldn't hat be an awkward way to want to play xbox? lol.

cdages, how much did you pay, can you get another?

Afraid not. I bought mine like 3 or 4 months ago for $10 which I felt was great deal. Like I mentioned earlier, the only thing that I don't like about the official component cable is the setup around a connection box. As a matter of fact, microsoft designed a composite AV pack in the same manner as well which also provides Svideo. With that said, I'm not sure if they produced a standalone Component or Svideo cable like they did with composite. I'ts something I've always thought about.

Generic brand!? Not even a 3rd brand to go with? Intec, Pelican, Madcatz, Performance, nothing? Yeah man, i'd look for some other cables. It's very likely that your cables lack proper shielding. Can you provide a picture of em by any chance.

shitty cable with bad shielding. It's really easy for component cables to do that.

anyone ever use this brand? komodo?

MS never made any s-video or component cables that didnt have a breakout box.

can anyone verify the diameter size ferrite i would need?

I'm sure you have a cable with that piece around somewhere. Try to get one off and test it on your cable...
