Craigslist

Post by Hatta »

I really need to stop reading Craigslist. I have a metric shit-ton of video games already. But I still read it, gives me something to do during the slow parts of the day. Problem is I end up seeing a good deal on something. Today it was a mint DSlite + travel case + 6 (good) games for $125.

I want it, but I'd feel guilty about spending the money. But if I don't get it I feel guilty about missing a bargain. I'll pass this time, since it's not the greatest deal I've seen, but it's a tough call every time. I missed out on a hard drive for my laptop earlier this week, which was also a decent bargain, and now I regret it.

I'd quit reading it entirely, but I know I'd miss out on a real steal every once in a while. Anyone else have this problem?

I suggest you roll with it.

Instead of keeping what you buy, sell it for more on Ebay if you can. Then you can buy bigger video game lots.

Craigslist is the shit. I got my Dreamcast and my Sega Saturn off there all in the past couple weeks. I got a mint Dreamcast +2 controllers and 1 VMU for $20 freaking dollars. I traded my slim PS2 which I never use anymore for a model 2 Sega Saturn with 2 controllers and 6 games. I now just await my Saturn modchip to arrive so I can play the classics.

Craiglist isn't big out here, but I know it is difficult quitting. I bought too many games on ebay until I got fed up with it, then bought too many games on the flea market until I got fed up with it, then bought too many stuff on games stop and already started checking a service similar to Craiglist.

I guess you just have to wait until you're fed up with craiglist or run out of money :)

It never gets old to me.. its all part of the addiction. I have craigslist RSS and ebay custom searches setup on my iPhone. And I constantly refresh at work any chance I get.
