Smile: I think I might finally finish Mass Effect 2 tonight. Kinda curious if the universe is going to become an even more bleak place after this latest adventure of my xenophobic and psychotic femshep.
Frown: The PS4 looks cool...I guess? Not really. That's not a knock on the machine or company; I'm sure its going to be a big success and host to a lot of great games. It's just that somewhere between reading about the social media 'share' button and the cloud streaming PS1/2/3/N games and the doodads that I realized that I have seriously slipped out of being the target demographic for much of the gaming industry.
It's really weird to have new iterations of all the systems coming up and not feeling that excited about any of them. When I compare my excitement for the SNES to my (lack of) excitement for the WiiU, it's really telling. Or that day I finally bought my own PSX to the lack of buzz I felt reading about the PS4 this morning.
Again, I understand that the reason the magic is not there is more to do with me than gaming in general. I just didn't expect this sense of detachment to be so pronounced.
I guess this is part of growing up or something?

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I have no interest in the PS4, Xbox720 and even LESS interest in the Gamecube 1.7. I guess Sony isn't doing the ridiculous 'anti-used-game' thing from what I understand, so there's that. But does my controller really NEED a touch screen? Do I need to pinch to zoom on video games? Really? All that means is one thing: If I want to play a two player game on my PS4, I'll likely have to buy a $75 controller. Fuck that.
I know this sounds jaded, but I'll look into buying one of these 3 consoles when they have been thoroughly hacked and modded so I can just download games, and that's if I have an interest in Halo 6, God of War Againsion, Mario Galaxy 8, Zelda Waggle Fetchquest 3, or Random Fighter that isn't as good as Street Fighter II Turbo or King of Fighters 98 X Other Random Fighter that isn't as good as Street Fighter or KOF Part 2 Rising Upper Crust Bakery Edition AO Online.
Fuck new games, seriously. Im gonna go play Chrono Trigger again.

At this point, I think my money is better spent on retro games than on saving/spending it on these new consoles. The Wii U intrigues me a bit, but not the new Sony/Microsoft systems.indecks wrote:I have no interest in the PS4, Xbox720 and even LESS interest in the Gamecube 1.7. Funny, I posted something very similar in another thread:Flake wrote: Frown: The PS4 looks cool...I guess? Not really. Was this the ebay one where they tried to up the shipping? I never heard how it all got sorted...?o.pwuaioc wrote:Wii came in!

He eventually just ate the shipping costs and sent anyway. Looks like he might have skimmed a bit off to help pay for something. :/mjmjr25 wrote:Was this the ebay one where they tried to up the shipping? I never heard how it all got sorted...?o.pwuaioc wrote:Wii came in!
