Now how about strong 3rd party lineups on POST-SNES consoles from Nintendo.Hazerd wrote:SNES had alot of great titles in 1991 for the NA releaseZenErik wrote:I can't think of many consoles that were great in the first year..
F-Zero
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fight
Gradius III
Darius Twin
ActRaiser
Pilotwings
SimCity
Super Castlevania IV
Super Ghouls N Ghosts
Super Mario World
Super R-Type
U.N. Squadron
Now only if Modern consoles could even have a chance against that line-up!
Wii-U thoughts so far

I can agree with that, my GameCube sat in my basement for over a year after Super Smash Bro Melee, wasnt till Super Mario Sunshine came out that i really played it again.ZenErik wrote: Now how about strong 3rd party lineups on POST-SNES consoles from Nintendo.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
I'd argue that isn't the fairest comparison. There was almost an entire year between the JP launch and the NA launch, so there was going to be a higher amount of quality titles by the time the NA launch occurs. Nowadays you only have days between launches in different regions.Hazerd wrote:SNES had alot of great titles in 1991 for the NA releaseZenErik wrote:I can't think of many consoles that were great in the first year..

Hazerd isn't talking about launch lineup, she means the entire first year.MrPopo wrote:I'd argue that isn't the fairest comparison. Maybe Japan should get the PS4 a year before us, that way by the time it comes out, will have more titles, less bugs, and more dlc!
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
That only furthers my point. NA got two years worth of releases in a single year.AppleQueso wrote:Hazerd isn't talking about launch lineup, she means the entire first year.MrPopo wrote:I'd argue that isn't the fairest comparison. Actually, it doesn't. All the games which Hazerd mentioned were released within one year of the Super Famicom's debut in Japan, ignoring North America.MrPopo wrote:That only furthers my point. What a fantastic group of games all released within the first year of the SFC launch in Japan. The NA launch was sweet, but the first Japanese year was phenomenal still.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
Lets see what it costs first. Nintendo was trying to make a next gen console without it costing an arm and a leg. Sony has upped the processors, upped the RAM, and added a me too controller touchpad (much like sixaxis). So lets see what the price is. Likely more than the Wii U, but by how much?RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I was pretty underwhelmed by the PS4 announcement. On the plus side, Sony is being smart and giving the system a large amount of very fast ram, and I'd be lying if I said that new Killzone trailer wasn't just plain cool.

I cant see them pricing it under $500, but I dont think they will go the $600 route of the ps3 (which is a price that really turned people off)Jamisonia wrote:Lets see what it costs first. Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
I really don't think it will cost much more than $400.
It lacks the screen, NFC, and other doodads that the WiiU controller has, and Sony is far more willing than Nintendo to take a loss on a system. The WiiU is only sold at a very, very minor loss. A single game sale turns it profitable.
