I saw my first live event in quite a few years on Sunday. It was the WWE NXT promotion (formerly Florida Championship Wrestling). It was only a couple of hours, but it wasn't bad. I used to go to Full Impact Pro events (sister fed to ROH) but they recently returned this month after about a year or so not doing anything. I even have a DVD of a great show I saw in 2007. It really is great and tons of people come out for them.

FIP isn't with ROH anymore, They're more inline with EVOLVE and Dragon Gate USA now.

Was El Generico at the NXT show you saw?

They had a few Dragon Gate matches at the old FIP events, if I recall correctly. Shingo was from there, right?

That name you mentioned does not sound familiar, but the only issue I really had with the show was that it wasn't as crazy or as friendly as the FIP events I went to. At the FIP shows, people stood up and moved around as the action was going on, but everyone stayed put in their seats here. Also, the wrestlers would come out and meet and greet everyone after the show, you'd have a chance to talk to them, get autographs, etc. Here they pushed us all out the door within 5 minutes of it ending and locked the front doors behind us (seriously?) I was a bit put off by it, but I understand this is a much different deal.

I will have to see with FIP returning if they make it back up this way again.

I do have some pics from that 2007 show -- the main event was The Briscoes vs Necro Butcher/Mad Man Pondo in a Bar Room Brawl:

The ref was unfortunately put through a table

They had all sorts of stuff in AND out of the ring

Best moment right here -- Mark jumps from on TOP of the ring truck into *2* tables, the solid concrete floor below!

I read something about how the WWE intends to keep the new belt The Rock unveiled for a very long time. That's interesting to me. We've had the spinner belt for years now, and it was obviously Cena's belt. The new belt has the brahma bull on both sides of the WWE logo. Does that officially make The Rock the face of the company now? He IS the biggest "superstar" on their roster, even if he is a part timer and I hear we may still see future appearances from him after this upcoming Mania since the arrangement is working out well both for him and the WWE.

Just food for thought.

How is it working out well for The Rock vs. his movie career? Anyone that thinks that The Rock is staying on a permanent basis, is delusional. He's already a proven star in Hollywood, and makes more money doing that.

If you look at the replica belt on WWE.com, in place of the Brahma Bulls are regular logos. i'd imagine they customize those depending on the champ.

Also, way to go Jack Swagger - DUI and weed in the car. RVD says "hey".

WWE video game news update:
According to IGN, the WWE video game series will be rebranded under the "2K" series. The next WWE game to be released will be titled, "WWE 2K14," and will come out in the fall.

source: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/02/20/ ... eb3300002c

what happened:
- THQ terminated their relationship with WWE and gave up the rights to all future games.

- WWE waved any rights to go after THQ for damages.

- WWE will get a payment of $650,000 for royalties owed for sales of WWE '13 during the bankruptcy process.

- THQ also terminated their relationship with Yukes, which worked on the WWE games. Yukes will now sign a deal with Take Two.

- THQ will transfer all ownership of Yukes stock in exchange for Yukes giving up claims of damages of $15-20 million against them.

- THQ will pay Yukes $250,000 in royalties for sales of WWE '13.
how about bringing back AKI to make WWE wrestling games instead... :|

So what, it's a little weed. It's not like he's a heroin junkie.

So.....does that mean the Swagger push is over? Do they somehow give his no 1. contendership to someone else? I remember how much they punished RVD

Weed is a part of their very public wellness policy. But the DUI and the TMZ and other press stuff makes it worse.
