So you've got such a wonderful space, how often do you get to use it?
haha. We were probably buying the best deal we could find at the same time.

I use the stuff downstairs at least once a day. Sometimes its doctor mario on the nes other times its COD4, but it does get used daily. Its summer so my sega stuff in the third floor bedroom doesn't get much play. Heat rises and between cooling the studio and living room i skipped the bedroom to save a little money. In the winter i play pretty much every 3 or 4ish days though, comes and goes. When i have work to do i don't play often. When i don't have a book coming in i am free to do whatever with my days and end up playing sega while i wait for my friends to get out of their 9-5s. I assuming that once i get my xbox softmodded i'll spend some more time up there, or drop it down stairs and be playing that.

Thing about emulation, it kinda turns your carts into a collection rather than a toy.

Be careful what you wish for with the XBOX emu. It really cheapened the nostalgia I felt for my old school days. I would spend 20 seconds playing a NES game on the Xbox, decide it sucked, and load the next one. Back in the day we'd suck it up and play that game forever, seeing that we dropped 30 bucks on it :)

One thing I do enjoy is MAME with the Street fighter anniversary stick. Closest thing I'll ever have to the real thing...which I'm told is really not that close.

funny that you say that- i'm searching around for arcade sticks now. Looking at the street fighter one like you said, but also a wireless one.

anyone have and love one of these? made by naki.

I was extremely close to buying the Naki; I found out it was being closed out at Gamestop for 30 bucks, went to pick it up, and it was gone. For those that don't know, those two circles on the bottom of the base are actually the 2 analog sticks found on standard pads. The resistance on them is actually quite nice, but I wonder how long it would take before they felt loose. Not that you'd really be using the analog nubs much.

Another downside is that when you see the stick up close, it's white. Really WHITE. I wondered how long it would take before my (and my friends') sweaty mitts would make it look stingy. Of course, I really haven't had that issue with my Wii controllers, so it's probably a moot point.

Your collection really amazes me, as you seem to own most consoles that have ever been manufactured.
Question is, do you actually have the time to play them1?

I try to. I get in phases. Start playing panzer dragoon and then i'll play the satrun stuff to death for about 3 months or so. Castle crashers just came out so i'm kinda all over the xbox 360 now. Plus i just picked up the hori stick for it, so i'm looking to get into some soul calibur and pick up galaga legions, 1946 and some other classic shooters/arcade/fighters.

you know- comes and goes. I just like options. Plus- its really difficult to turn down a good deal. I'm always lookin.
******
In addition to that xbox hori stick, i picked up that naki pictured above and a very cheap xbox one.
Plus- a buddy of mine gave me a broken 360 that i fixed up, added a new case to that i got custom engraved with mass effect art. That is pluged into the right monitor in the computer room while the left has my second dreamcast vga input covered.

I think thats all the new stuff.

I'm curious what you're using as shelving for your SNES and NES games. Right now I've got an Ikea entertainment center with a DVD rack on top for all my GC, PS2, Wii, PS3, DS (GBA inside the cases), PSP games, and it has drawers underneith that I keep my controllers and SNES, Genesis, NES, Saturn, PSX, DC, Master System, N64, GB games. Now, the PSX, DC, Saturn games will easily fit into a DVD rack (I just don't have room in mine), but I'm nto sure what to do with the loose carts. Then I saw the shelves you have for the SNES and NES stuff, and it looks really good.

thanks man, but I can't really help you. I picked it up from a thrift store and it doesn't have any identifing marks on it. I would look for anything that can hold CDs and is a little deeper than normal for those nes carts
