Yeah I'm not sure which scenario is more popular, but I know lots of people in both camps. To me there's just something about if I'm home I want to be playing my consoles. I have to admit, I have been gaming some on my Vita now that I have kids as I don't have to worry about offensive content or sharing the TV with them.MrPopo wrote:See, I play my handheld when I travel to visit my family, but I do the majority on my couch at home, with old episodes of various TV shows in the background. And I've always played handhelds this way, ever since our first Game Boy. And with the DS (and to a lesser extent, the PSP) there were so many amazing RPGs I got a lot of mileage out of my little handheld.Stark wrote:I, for one, am not the type to play my handheld at home, I play it in the car or at the in-laws.

That's funny as I am the complete opposite. I want fully fledged unique handheld games. I play my mine at home 90% of the time.Stark wrote:Agreed. To me, this is the whole point of a handheld. I, for one, am not the type to play my handheld at home, I play it in the car or at the in-laws. So taking a series I love (Uncharted) and making it portable? Awesome! Or in the case of Persona 4 Golden, taking a game that I simply wouldn't play at home and making it portable makes it more palatable. I want them to do this with more games like Final Fantasy XII.ZenErik wrote: I still don't get this talk. Aren't pretty much all the top 3DS games ALSO ports/transplants from other platforms? Granted, a lot of them are first party Nintendo and thus will certainly sell.

I always play my portables at home. I get carsick if I play them on the go, and it's just more comfortable in my soft chair with a drink.

Looks like I might be in the minority here then. Also, I'm not saying I don't want unique handheld games, but I don't have any problem with a port, especially with me that might mean I play a game that I wouldn't otherwise.Jmustang1968 wrote:That's funny as I am the complete opposite. Imagine if EVERY new PS3 game were available as a cross buy on the Vita. I would be in heaven. There are a lot of home console games I would love to play but just do not have the time for. Being able to take any one I want on the go would be incredible. I never thought I would have time for Persona 4 at home. So I was extremely happy to see P4G, which I finally completed last night.

So, who was your special girl for your playthrough in P4G?ZenErik wrote:I'm with you.Stark wrote: Looks like I might be in the minority here then. Back to playing on handhelds, I have no objections playing on a handheld wherever/whenever I need to kill time. And I do want Sony to encourage game developers to do more with the Vita beyond cross-play - how about cross-save for the next GT (maybe on PS4 + Vita), experience/item/skills cross-transfer for future RPG's (next AC, Dragon Age).
Re: Playstation Vita thread
Special girl? Uhh. Well... Rise, Yukiko, Naoto, Chie, and Ayane. But if I had to choose just one it would have been Rise. The game didn't stop me. So I just had to keep going.

This. I have always been a proponent of porting console titles to handhelds, and now with stuff like cross-buy, we can hope that sentiment only becomes more popular.ZenErik wrote:I'm with you.Stark wrote: Looks like I might be in the minority here then. Re: Playstation Vita thread
I've probably mentioned a couple times in this thread that the lack of price drops on some Vita games kind of surprises me. Sure you have your Mortal Kombat, Hot Shots Golf and Wipeout that sit at $20 but Uncharted and Gravity Rush have never dropped!
And while they are $35 now, LBP and PS All Stars had temporary $20 sales online at least.
FIFA 13 is currently $19.99 (while the original FIFA for Vita still sits at $35). That's a solid deal since it is just an updated version of the orig release (both released within 7 months of each other).

Re: Playstation Vita thread
It's not all that surprising since they know they can get away with the firm pricing. The reality is that there isn't a whole lot of competition of software on the Vita. In addition, a lot of the excellent titles are not dropping because they are just that, excellent games for a platform that doesn't have hundreds of titles.
Speaking of sales, Sly Cooper Is on sale at Bestbuy and Amazon. $19.99 for Vita, $29.99 for PS3.
