8. CoD of Duty (Web) - 2/7
9. Dragon's Dogma (360) - 2/12
10. Medal of Honor: Warfighter (360) - 2/13
After playing 2 RPG's in a row, I decided I needed to take a break with a mindless shooter. I happen to still have the Medal of Honor that GameFly sent me about 4-5 months ago, so I figured now was as good a time as any.
The only nice things I have to say are that I liked the car chase levels and some of the songs in the soundtrack were pretty good.

I should probably hunt down Heart of the Alien for Sega CD as I love the games from Delphine Studios. I believe if I played these games for the first time today, I'd be very impressed with Flashback, not so much for OOTW.

Re: Games Beaten 2013
Far Cry 3
After many many hours, I've finished the single-player story. I captured every outpost, got all but one memory card and tattoo, and I think I got all the weapons. I've still got several optional missions to finish, but those are quick and easy. Anyway, I had a great time. The game looks great, has a fine soundtrack (except for that Skrillex song that really stuck out), and the last mission isn't overly difficult like in the first game. I recommend that anyone who enjoyed Far Cry 2 play this game, as it's like a more thought-out and focused version of the same gameplay. The story is actually intelligible this time, and the feeling of aimlessness is gone. The player is free to explore and goof around, but you'll never get lost or be forced to spend 20 minutes walking across the game map to your next objective. And once you clear out an outpost, your allies will hold it for you. No more getting shot at by an endless respawning army. I haven't played enough games to make a sure pick, but so far I'd say this is the best game of 2012. Oh, and did I mention Vaas was a great villian?*
*Up until I was actually playing the game, I thought Vaas was the player-character. I thought your character showed up on the island like a normal guy, but slowly adapted and went sorta insane as the game progressed until he looked like the guy on the cover. I guess I can chalk it up to the fact that most box art features the hero, not the antagonist. And especially not

Company of Heroes (PC)
Super Mario 3D Land (3DS)
Far Cry 3 (PC)
Mega Man 2 (3DS)
Great fun. Played through in on the 3DS and yes I abused save states. Definitely one, if not my favorite Mega Man game though. I'm debating going through X4 or X5 but I think I'll go through a few other games before returning to the franchise.

10. Pokémon White Version 2 DS *NEW*
2 more games beaten, 2 more handheld games at that. Thats a 9:1 ratio of handheld games to console games this year so far
.
The "Denpa" Men was a quirky and unique downloadable dungeon crawling RPG. You must assemble a team of Denpa Men to save the Denpa Girl from the Evil King. It all seems pretty generic, but the main gimmick comes with the Denpa Men themselves - you search them out in real life, and they're generated based on nearby wireless signals - each one generates a unique denpa man, adjusting his stats, size, name, colour (read: elemental typing), antennae (magic spell - not all denpa have them, but denpa without them are stronger statwise) and other aspects. You pull together a team of 8, which will need to be changed for each new dungeon to handle the powerful new elemental monsters, and adventure through a dungeon fighting enemies. The battle system is really fast, letting you press a single button to tell all 8 denpa to attack or automatically choose the most effective move, but allowing you to assign particular denpa a task if need be too. The difficulty in this game gets crazy hard - normal enemies in the last few dungeons were as hard as bosses, and could easily wipe out a whole party. Sometimes they appeared in groups too, which was nightmarish. In fact, if anything, that was the games greatets flaw - it was a basic RPG with a nice novel twist, but the very high difficulty meant it could be more frustrating than fun later on. Worth a look, but only if you have lots of patience!
Pokémon White 2 was more of the same. With some series, that can be a good thing, and with others, its not. Pokémon sits somewhere in between for me - it's still as enjoyable as ever, but it could really use something nice and fresh to do. The whole 8 gyms, evil team, elite 4 thing is getting tired - let me use pokémon for a different purpose next time!
On the other hand, White 2 does have one of the better plotlines of the series, and team Plasma are actually impressively competent seeming this time around. The large amount of wild pokemon (more than any other game int he series) and the new areas make it fun to explore, and the game offers more levelling oppurtunities than before too, with nice high level pokémon by the end. White 2 is the best 'third' game in the Pokémon series, because it's basically not a third game - it actually deserves the 2 moniker. It feels more like going back to Kanto did in GSC than like it did in Pokémon Yellow. One of the ebst games in the series imo, but I am ready for something a little different in XY. Will I get it? Unlikely. Will I play XY anyway? Yup, I'm a glutton for punishment.
Next up: More handheld goodness with Kirby: Mass Attack, but also a little more console time with Blaster Master and Cave Story.

Beating Altered Beast isn't much of an accomplishment, but I still enjoy the game. I'll always have fond memories of Pit-Fighter so ya guys guys can take a hike. I like the game.
Love both Aladdin games. Yes the snes version is more polished, has better sound, but it's almost too simple. I like the challenge the genesis version provides.
May scoot through the Super Star Wars Trilogy on the snes next.

Hey, I've got a lot of fond memories of playing it at a laundrymat. Doesn't make it any less a crappy game though.Luke wrote:I'll always have fond memories of Pit-Fighter so ya guys guys can take a hike. I like the game.

Games Beaten: 2012 2011 2010
Gattling Gears is a great twin stick shooter that nicely combines elements of games like Total Carnage, Commando, Shock Troopers, and Metal Slug to make something that rises a notch above the ample competition in the genre this generation. Gorgeous artwork and challenging later levels (even if the first 3/4 or so is pretty easy) makes this one that should appeal quite a bit to folks around here, and I think you'd do yourself a disservice not to check it out at some point (it is available on Steam, 360, and PS3).
Thanks to ExedExes for suggesting Monster Maulers, which is more indisputable proof that Konami was in a class of its own in the first half of the 90s. A hybrid fighting game/beat em up, this one will munch your quarters and leave you enjoying every minute of it. Gorgeous sprite work, a great soundtrack, and some compelling art design (outside the player characters) make this one an easy one to recommend.

James Pattersons' Women's Murder Club 2: A Darker Shade of Grey.
Recently purchased the Triple Crime Pack on Amazon, and recently replayed the first game.
For those who don't know, it's based on a book series. The games themselves are hidden object games with minor adventure game elements.
Not for die-hard adventure gamers, naturally. It's more like an avid poker champ playing solitaire.
Still gonna play the next game.
