Russian Meteorite

Post by fvgazi »

This is pretty cool. I don't think one has been as well documented as this. Kind of ironic with that DA14 meteor passing through our orbit today as well.

My favorite video is the last NYtimes one where they are filming the trail after it's mostly burned up, and then you get the sound of the explosion hitting earth. //edit I'll leave my original comment for laughs, but it was actually the sonic boom. It exploded so high in the atmosphere that it took like 30 seconds for it to reach everyone... and it shattered glass everywhere.

//edit - I just watched one of the driving ones in HQ and you can see the explosion wave and fragment thingies before it gets all lit up.

It's only awesome if i could of went up to it on the ground and took some of it home! good thing it didnt land in the US, the government would try to cover it up, and keep it to themselves!

You don't need to take some home until you realize that you need a piece to complete your time machine. The real value of the meteorite is the bee who used it to get here in the first place.

I couldn't really sleep last night and somehow in came across this too

It was damn cool to see. And it kept me awake longer.

I even posted a video in the dump thread.

That sonic boom was pretty cool too.

This was clearly Dr. Emmett Brown and Marty McFly returning to our time.

This would be awesome if it didn't send nearly 1000 people to hospitals.
