PC Shmups

I used to love Major Stryker and Raptor: Call of the Shadows, two DOS classics.

Major Stryker is now freeware and you can still buy Raptor from 3D Realms.

But honestly, I prefer consoles for shmups. I like using a controller!

There this thing called Joy 2 Key

And actually, a vast majority of doujin shmups have controller/arcade stick support. I use a stick with my doujin games all the time without even using joytokey.

Tyrain 2000 is amazing.

Alot of FPS companies made Shmups back in the day. INTERESTING

Blue Wish Resurrection (my personal favorite doujin game)

PLADZMA (interesting progression system, especially if you can read the japanese)

Quite enjoyed ring^-27, despite the extreme low-res. It's fairly reminiscent of Cave stuff and worth checking out!
