Electrolux Vacuum - I can't believe they still make it!

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Electrolux Vacuum - I can't believe they still make it!

Post by Ziggy »

Even though we're a retro gaming community, I find it fun to discuss other retro things from time to time.

Who remembers these things? This is what I used when I was a kid. Honestly, I couldn't imagine using one now, and I was kinda surprised to find out that it's still being made (though a tad bit different than the one I used). Electrolux makes more modern looking vacuums, but I can't believe they still make this model. For the price of them, who would opt to lug this thing around the house when you can buy an Oreck for half the price?

The canister looks about the same, but this is what my Power Nozzle looked like: Image

Haven't seen that model in a while!

Wow, a thousand dollars?? No thank you!

edit:

We need a retro-vacuum sub-forum now.

I feel sorry for you, dsh. Clearly you have never used one of these monsters. If you have, you wouldn't be able to resist reminiscing about them. Like how the retractable chord would drive you crazy at times, or how amusing heavy the canister is. I swear, house wives back in the day must have had arms like tree trunks!

Or a retro: other sub-forum, where vacuum cleaners and rotary phones can be discussed.

Ive never liked electrolux's. My father has a Kirby that his father bought in the 20s or 30s. Still works strong today, and yest it looks like the vacuum from the Brave Little Toaster.

I see those all over the place, actually. My parents have one!

Here in Maine we have a lot of Mom n Pop vacuum cleaner stores.
