So from what I read in the RPS interview, they've done some modifications so it will run natively on WinXP/7/8. I'd expect them to support widescreen resolutions and for the resolution to go up as high as it can. I doubt the models would look any better than they did back in the day.

The mods in place are built in just to make sure it runs well and can support the resolutions required. It won't break the game, and even if it does suffer from problems, GOG will likely bend over backwards to fix it. After all, System Shock 2 is THE game for them. It's been the most requested game for years on their site, and if they screw it up, it'll be a major blow to them.

It would be equivalent to the Half-Life games being broken back when Steam launched. Not only has SS2 been the most wanted game overall for years, it's been the one I've been wanting on their service myself as well. If it didn't work I'd be burning up the web with my complaints.

Well now that System Shock 2 has arrived, we can start griping at GOG for still not having Grim Fandango.
