Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

MMM Bagels...(Homer Simpson voice)

Greetings new people!
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

Hi all!

I'm Jeroen, a 32 year old guy from the Netherlands. I'm currently working as a UX designer for Google in Zurich, Switzerland.

I've been gaming as long as I remember, starting in the early eighties when I played games on my dads PC. He was so fed up with the fact that he couldn't work on it he bought me an Atari 2600 which was my first console. I've never stopped playing and kept most of my systems over the years racking up a nice collection, ranging from Atari 2600 to everything current gen and almost everything in between.

Due to work and other obligations I haven't been playing and collecting as much as I want to, but now that I'm finally getting settled in Switzerland I'm start to look into a bit more serious collecting again.

As a long time lurker I'm looking forward to hang around here on the forums with like minded people :)

Thanks

J

Greetings Programs!

I've been lurking here for a couple years now, but I'm pretty shy and normally don't post on the forums I read. I've recently started work as a Linux Administrator, and working the graveyard shift can get quite boring at times. I figured posting here might give me something to do to pass the time. Plus I've been really wanting to join in on the talks in "Together Retro".

About me... I suck at these. I'm shy, I love Linux and video games used to be a big part of my life. I'm slowly getting back into collecting, but it's taking a lot. I stopped collecting after Katrina, when I lost all of my systems except for my Dreamcast that somehow is "Still Thinking". That thing went through a fire a few months before that... Maybe it's a bad omen. My center-piece to my collection was a CIB Earthbound with the player's guide. There was no salvaging it, not even the cart after the chemicals in the water got to it...

Just recently started going to flea markets, and browsing around online. I have to say I'm surprised at how expensive collecting has gotten! I used to purchase those old systems and games with my allowance money, but now It hurts to even buy used genesis games... I was always a SEGA kid, so that's where I'm picking up my collection. My daughter loves the Game Boy, so I'm also grabbing those as I find them for cheap, which is also pretty hard at the moment.

So there...

It's really mostly just Nintendo stuff that's gotten crazy expensive. You can still get tons of Genesis games on the cheap for example. If you're wanting to get back into collecting, Genesis is where I'd start. Looks like you're already doing that though.

Your avatar is going to keep reminding me to hurry up and actually play through Disgaea.

I've been lurking here for a while but decided it was time to start posting and come out of the shadows, so to speak, haha.

I'm a collector (obviously) from Canada who is primarily interested in PlayStation and Sony games and collectibles. I have only been collecting for about 8 months now. Like many others, growing up I always sold and traded my games to get the latest and "greatest." Boy do I regret it now..

I collect just about anything disc based but like I said I do tend to focus on Sony products like PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, etc. Right now I'm going for a FULL PS1/PS2 RPG set and I think I'm about 65-70% of the way there!
