Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - Wii U/3DS

We (North America only, afaik) get a demo I believe Feb. 21st.

Release dates:
Japan- Already out.
North America - 19th March, 2013
Europe - 22nd March, 2013
Australia - 23rd March, 2013


Anybody else going to pick it up? I was going to just stick with the Wii version but the updates are too tempting. I don't have a Wii U so I'll be getting the 3DS edition... I'll have to pick up a Circle Pad Pro sometime.

This game is literally the reason that I bought a WiiU. Monster Hunter Tri was practically a demo compared to this version, I'm really excited to play it. I may or may not get the demo considering that I already know with certainty that I'm going to be getting the game.

I was very much up for getting this until Capcom confirmed that online multiplayer was region locked AGAIN. Not interested in rebuying a game I already own on Wii if the only thing I wanted out of it (being able to play online with my American forum buddies) isn't actually possible.

Are they ever going to release a circle pad pro for the 3ds xl? I know its available in japan right now.

I honestly don't think it'll be released here; but, then again, you never know.

For the time being: I think you could import one; I don't believe peripherals are region-locked. It's only like $23 on play-asia.

Region locked multiplayer sucks. Are the Japanese players still having to pay for the service though? That might have something to do with locking.

Well, 3DS you'll have to buy a CPP for the best control scheme and it lacks online multiplayer. If I had a Wii U, I'd buy it on that.

But the 3DS and Wii U saves are cross-compatible. I'll probably buy the Wii U version eventually to transfer my 3DS data to a big screen.

Getting it on the Wii U for sure.. I'm not sure I'll get it on 3DS as I only have the XL version.. Games like that suck with one analog.. I could have never played ragnorak odyssey on a PSP, then again I never played Monster Hunter on them either....

I haven't played a Monster Hunter game before, but I have read about Monster Hunter Tri on Wii and the games sound interesting. Should I pick it up when it's released? Or should I check out the Wii game first?
