3do genuine games

Post by Hallow »

Hi all, I just got my first 3do console with some games and I was wondering if there is a way to notice if game is genuine or just pirate copy. Thanks in advance.

I doubt there is or ever was a big 3DO pirate market...what makes you ask?

If I'm understanding correctly what you're asking,
hit up http://www.mobygames.com/

Type in the 3DO game/s you're unsure of and check out the box art and/or the various markings, etc on the game disc itself.
From the above you can get a good idea if what you have might or might not be a legit copy of the game.

ah, now I see why you want to know :)

That's the first I think I've seen a red disc copy. It may indeed be a pirate version

Interesting.

I wonder if this is a modern thing, since that is quite a high valued game

The Lucienne's Quest "watermark" around the inner part of the disk is interesting. Maybe I am wrong, but I do not think that would be easy to fake...
