Greetings and hello to you all!
I'll try not to ramble on, but we'll see how that goes. I have a name, but it sucks so I go by Bagel and I'm 26 or 27 (irrelevant to me). As far back as I can remember I've been involved in gaming... everything from holding a 2600 stick when I was two to even now. I am involved in the industry as I do work in sound departments (making audio files loop, syncing voice samples, blah blah blah) as well as some coding. When I'm not on the westcoast I'm at my main home on the east doing journalism articles (it doesn't hurt to know what's going on in the industry... which is in pretty bad shape these days). Asides that, I do have a disease that affects my brain and it makes me rather forgetful/come off as a little "strange/crazy" so if I get weird with some stuff I'll apologize now as it's not completely my fault.
From doing work in the journalism side of things, I learned over time to give any and every game a fair chance because you never know what gems you'll find in the rut. I have my opinions, and everyone else does as well and I consider them fair and valid as long as they've actually given 'x' a fair chance and tried it. That's one of the few things I cannot stand is people that bash on something without giving it a fair shot... drives me bonkers. I was part of another forum for
FAR too long, and left because they were beyond elitist and alot of them were just terrible people who quickly judged while stretching facts out.
As far as my tastes in retro games, I was for a good while an avid collector of anything and everything you could think of... arcade cabinets, computer systems, consoles, handhelds... basically the whole nine-yards. ...well after awhile the stuff just piles up and you run out of room for it, so I condensed it down to focus on just the stuff I know and love, with my prime focus on NES games/Nintendo stuff. That's not to say I've given up on other systems aside that no-no... I still have my all my SEGA consoles and my Playstation stuff because there's just some awesome games I can pop in and play any day of the week.
I better stop talking before I end up writing a 10 page introduction
I look forward to hanging out in the community and seeing how things go.
