There's a reason that's all happening, I'm sure. Most comic fans recognize Tommy Merlyn as another famous Green Arrow character, which I'm sure what this is all heading towards.indecks wrote:I've started quick-skipping through any scenes with Laurel and Oliver's best friend... tim? Makes it easier to take both of them.

Re: Arrow
Merlyn in the comics is the League of Assassins (Ra's al Ghul's crew) and he was bested by Ollie once. So now they are not arch enemies, but Merlyn likes to take the assassination jobs that will draw GA's attention because of his competitive spirit.BurningDoom wrote:There's a reason that's all happening, I'm sure. As for the show, I love the comic version of Green Arrow (my youngest son is named Oliver) and I like this show. I treat this show like I do Nolan's Batman movies: the only real connection between the show and the comics are nods and homages. This is just another take on the character. I am also digging this take on the Huntress. This version reminds me of the one that used to team up with young Tim Drake and Nightwing and more Punisher-like than Batman-like.

I was trying to hint at that without giving away possible T.V. show storylines.SpaceBooger wrote:Merlyn in the comics is the League of Assassins (Ra's al Ghul's crew) and he was bested by Ollie once. Re: Arrow
I actually think Laurel is pretty hot, as she should be. She's freaking Black Canary! She's much more attractive than the girl playing Huntress, who looks real ugly whenever she gets a mad or obsessive look on her face. I think the Huntress story was pretty good though, and faithful to some aspects of the character from her comic book versions. I just think they could have cast someone better. I actually wouldn't even mind if they brought her back on the show with a completely different actress. Not completely unheard of in television. Lyndsy Fonseca, Meghan Ory, Eliza Dushku, or Amy Acker(the voice of Huntress in Justice League Unlimited) are all people I would have loved in that role, though perhaps Amy would be just a bit too old for the partindecks wrote:I've started quick-skipping through any scenes with Laurel and Oliver's best friend... tim? HEY CW (or whoever shows this) lets focus on Oliver, his mom's little scheme, etc etc - not on a side character's wish to date an unattractive girl in the show.
I read in an interview that the creator of the show would love to use Batman at some point if he can get permission too, and can come up with a good story. I'd love to see that. Smallville has an 11th season going on in comic book form, and they've featured Batman in it. They've said they were never allowed to use him when the show was on the air. Batman would fit in quite well in Arrow. Only problem I see is that they've already made Ollie a bit too similar to Batman. I think we all see the strong Bat vibe in Arrow, and seeing Huntress just drives the point home further.

Laurel comes off as a complete bitch, which negates any hotness in my book. And she always has that "you're a complete idiot" look on her face, because she is a bitch.

Re: Arrow
How so? I don't think she's a bitch at all, a little hard to get maybe, but that's what makes her attractive. She's been burned by Oliver, who cheated on her WITH HER SISTER. Then when he comes back he sends her mixed signals. It's no wonder she doesn't know how to act around him. Meanwhile, Oliver's buddy is trying WAY TOO FREAKING HARD to win her affections. You can tell she wants to friend zone him but doesn't have the heart to do it. It's his own fault though. He comes on too strong.BurningDoom wrote:Laurel comes off as a complete bitch, which negates any hotness in my book. Everything she does makes sense to me. I don't see a bitch at all. I see a sexy, strong, independent woman. I'd be all over that.

It could also be the THIRTY MILES OF FACE between each eyeball. Great ass, nice tits, but that face... YIKES.

Re: Arrow
Next episode looks interesting, I was surprised by the preview. I didn't see that coming. Arrow's all I got now as a DC fan since they've cancelled Green Lantern the Animated Series and Young Justice. Fortunately, it's still pretty good.
I also still think anyone who doesn't think Katie Cassidy is hot is crazy, just seeing her in this interview makes me wish I could grab a cup of coffee with her:
She was pretty awesome in Supernatural too:
but to each his own
