I passed by a thrift store today, and came across an older model 360 with power cord and AV cables for $19.54. The disc drive is a little finicky, but otherwise, it powers up just fine, no serious error codes. Got a HDD and a controller elsewhere so I could use my new system.

It's pretty fun but can get repetitive. There aren't a ton of maps and you end up playing on the same ones over and over again during the campaign. The magic and environmental damage is awesome though.

Hit the thrifts today and got a bunch more stuff. I got myself a blue Xbox controller S (missing the breakaway portion that connects to the system but the sticks are nice and tight) for $3 and a wireless 360 controller (with battery pack) for $5 (sticks are super tight). The 360 controller was filthy but it cleaned up well, works great, and there's no other cosmetic damage to it. Not sure why someone would get rid of this because it feels almost like new. This was AWESOME because I had planned to buy a new wireless controller later on in the day as I have worn the hell out of the left analog stick on my old one. At the same thrift shop I also found a clear Gameboy for $10. I tried to test it; the screen flickered on and off, which I assumed was because the batteries were dead. As it turns out, the screen is dead, sound works fine. That pisses me off because I got a Gameboy Advance SP at the same place last week and the sound doesn't work. I can make these projects and probably get them to work in the future but I don't really like the headache of having to buy parts and fix stuff. I think I've learned my lesson with buying Gameboys from thrift stores.

Also picked up the following:
Eye Toy- PS2 (sealed) $8
WWF Royal Rumble- Dreamcast (Complete) $3
NBA Live 2003-PS2 (Complete) $3 (not a good deal, I know)
Onimusha Warlords- PS2 (Complete) $4.50
FIFA Soccer 10- PS2 (Complete) $4.50
Godzilla Unleashed- PS2 (Complete but the manual is in bad shape) $4.50
Warior World- Gamecube (No Manual) $3.50
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone- Gamecube (Complete) $3.50
Starfox Assault- Gamecube (No Manual) $3.50
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee- Gamecube (No Manual) $3.50
Little Mermaid- NES (Cart only) $6 (already had the empty box)
Extra PS One AV cable & Genesis RF cable- $4 (because hoarding is fun!)

I have been a bit obsessive about buying games that I missed out on playing over the years, even if I find them at slightly higher prices than I'm usually comfortable with. It's getting harder and harder to find decent games from past console generations for cheap and I hate to think I might pass something up and not run across it again.

A very good game. One of the best exclusives on the original Xbox.

Picked the following up late last night...
Image

From Gumtree, listing title and description only had "Doctor 64"
This belonged to the sellers ex, she had no idea what is was :D
Original box is split down each corner and the poly has cracked in two.
Worked a treat when I tested it after returning home, today the disc is just spinning up :(
Gunna open it up and try to sort out the drive or replace it :?
Only 1 memory board so 128k.
Cost £10, hence collecting in a hurry
