Doritos Crash Course on XBLA probably qualifies.

When I first saw that one, my entire reaction the whole time was "This looks pretty neat I should try this game sometime"
I feel this way whenever I hear him talk about any game.

Also, I remember distinctly Pizza Hut giving away free PlayStation demo discs with their large pizzas. Did any other food chain do this?
Also also, I remember on occasion getting games from cereal boxes for PC, such as The Amazon Trail and similar titles. Anyone else remember similar instances?

Me! I got Clue: Murder At Boddy Mansion when General Mills was doing some kind of promotion. They were giving away a few PC games all based on Hasbro board games.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pushover_%28video_game%29

Pushover

Pushover is a platform puzzle game developed by Red Rat Software in {{vgy|1992]] for the Amiga, Atari ST, DOS and Super NES. Ocean Software published the game. The game was sponsored by Smiths' British snack Quavers, where the game plot revolved around the Quavers mascot 'Colin Curly' losing his Quavers packets down a giant ant hill (Walkers has since bought the Quavers brand and Colin Curly is no longer used as a mascot). It is then up to the Pushover character 'G.I. Ant', a large soldier ant, to go inside the ant hill and recover the Quavers.

In the SNES version of the game, the aim was to recover bundles of cash dropped down the ant hill by Captain Rat.

I'm not entirely sure if this is what you're going for, but recently there's been some speculation about Dead Space 3 and a limited edition watch they're selling to promote the game.

Link to the product page: http://gear.ea.com/titles/dead-space/ce ... piece.html

Images of the watch and in-game.

The speculation comes from gamers and consumers claiming the watch was only put in the game for the sole reason of selling the product. It wasn't originally part of Isaacs model, and only added on to sell the physical watch.
Whether that's true or not, I have no idea, but I thought maybe that story would help with your article.

*watching a video of Skate 3 glitches*

Skate 3 has a huge Dr. Pepper sign on a side of a building.
