Yeah. Saturn sports games are pretty mediocre. World Series Baseball 2, while not as good looking as '98, is a better game. Runs nice and smooth and I personally prefer the sprites. There's this one mediocre tennis game that reminded me a lot of Virtua Tennis (except not fun) but that's all that comes to mind.
If you have a Genesis, NHL '94 is super fantastic and you should play it. Might be the single best sports game for non-sporty people besides Virtua Tennis and maybe NBA Jam.

Older. Not wiser.

So stick with the Dreamcast sports games would be the consensus?

I can vouch for this list. 1997 (when all those games were released) was an outstanding year for saturn sports. The 1998 edition of all of sega's sports franchises were the pinnacle of those respective series for many years. It took until 2002 for sega to release a baseball game that even began to compete with wsb 98.aaron wrote:the sports games i swore by when i was actively collecting saturn games were
football - Madden NFL '98
baseball - World Series Baseball '98
bastketball - NBA Action '98
soccer - Worldwide Soccer '98
hockey - NHL All-Star Hockey '98 (some people prefer the older one but i like the 3D polygonal players for some reason...)
tennis - Break Point Tennis
golf - VR Golf '97 (i have yet to find a better golf game for any 32-bit system)
Decathlete and Winter Heat are both worth it as well.
