NO

The PSP version is almost a whole new game. Actually IT IS a whole new game. I had it and didn't play it for the longest time, I later sold it. I did play it just I never touched it after my initial 2 or 3 hours with it.

The PSP Silver Star has those annoying load times.

The GBA version just feels off without cutscenes and voice acting.

Sega CD, Saturn, and PSX ports of 1 & 2 are the best.

I say if you already own a Sega CD, play that version, as it's still one of the better reasons to own the addon. But, if you don't, then don't go too far out of your way to do so. Personally, I always prefer playing a game on a more interesting console if given the option. Why play Myst on a PC when you can play it on a Jaguar CD? Why play Metal Gear on an NES when you could play it on an MSX?

I meant to chime in on this thread a few days earlier, but anywho. Lunar is worth playing period.... For the PS1 that is the enhanced version and is hella sweet if not the definitive version, however I'm a sucka for original versions of games so there for I would say you wouldnt be missing out if any since that was the way it was meant to be played. :P

What do you mean, a whole new game? It has painted graphics and remixed music, but it's pretty much the same. They did remove the world map, but wandering around in such a linear game wasn't much fun anyway.

Actually, I didn't like either version very much.

They're all different to some degree. They all have the same basic story. But plot details change from game to game.

It's kind of ridiculous how many times they've remade the game ... but, I would agree the PS1 version is probably best.

The original on Sega CD has a bunch of shortcomings, though some plot details are better (or worse, depending on your view).

Legend is almost identical in plot details to the PS1 remake. And Harmony Star on PSP is like a re-imagining of the Sega CD game.

So, there's the original, which has been remade twice, and the remake which also has a remake.

And there's only been ONE remake of the second game. What the hell.

Also, save yourself the heart stabbing agony of playing Dragon Song. It's terrible. (you get hurt by running)

I'd say the Sega CD game is worth it if you're curious. Don't pay too much. I paid about $20. That's a good price. The PS1 is the most technically enhanced version (though the PSP game looks fantastic ... it utilizes a lot of things done in the first remake)

I liked the PSP version...then again it's the only version I played so...but I did finish it so that says a lot about how good it is :D

Yea what the hell? They've remade SS how many times but EB is still only Sega CD and Playstation?

The Saturn version doesn't count since it wasn't ported and is the same as the Playstation version (I think.)
