I have to say it feels really odd to be constantly running in Final Fantasy III (SNES) due to the shoes. Does it provide any other benefit other than being able to save time? It's strange that the manual suggests they are very powerful.

Nope, that's pretty much all they do. I have no idea why the manual would say that they're powerful though, either it's arbitrary or perhaps at some point in development they were (like they autocasted haste on the party or something).

There's a few timed segments in the game where you want them, but otherwise it's just a convenience thing.

Sorry, what the manual actually says is that there are a "trio of relics that are particularly useful" and lists the sprint shoes as one of them.

Thinking of starting The Last Story. What other RPGs is it comparable to?

Haha yeah I find the sprint shoes to be necessary because the default walking speed is so damn slow.

Don't quote me on it, but I believe the PSX and GBA ports have a run button. So run button + sprint shoes = super speed!

I like how that guy is so insulting, yet uses such polite words.

Neither this region nor that region.
