Probably his limit break. Was his health really low?
Limit breaks didn't come until later, FFVI has "Desperation Attacks". When your character has low health (kneels down), they have a 1 in 16 chance of performing a super powered special attack.
Desperation attack! That's it.

I knew they didn't call it a limit break but I really couldn't think of the name.

I'm thinking about selling my CIB stuff for loose copies. Especially cartridge based systems. Thoughts? I figure that might be a good way to boost up my Vita savings, without technically getting rid of some games.

Depends - CIB is best for disc-based games, since CD books can scratch up discs. I suppose I don't have any real reason for doing CIB for Genesis/DS except that I don't mind not having any flimsy cardboard, and Gen/DS cases are nice hard plastic.

Carts stored in universal game cases with custom covers looks pretty damn fantastic

Yeah. I just figure, I've become much more of a player than a collector over the last few years. Most of my retro stuff sits in boxes till I play it anyway. Other than looking nice, I don't really have much motivation to keep CIB stuff.

Some of the stuff is much more valuable as CIB, which is why I'm thinking of doing it. I can sell my minty CIB Shining Force II for probably 50-70 bucks, and buy a loose copy for under 25.

I'll have to think on this a bit more though.

My cartridge stuff is all loose except for a few N64 games. Those boxes are just tucked away though, since it's annoying to open the box when I want to play the game. I'd hate to sell a CIB game. I like having boxes, just not enough to pay much more for them.

Because I hate Saturn game cases, I place all my Saturn games in thin plastic CD cases. Using the small plastic cases is fairly compact and doesn't wear on the disks like a CD book does.

Dead island started as a ok game then in the city started to be more fun but after that was just goin down... leveling up your character is POINTLESS, even when my life bar is 3 times longer than in the beginning of the game those bastards can STILL kill me with 3 or 4 hits, the kicking is ok but when a zombie start his animation attack you can't stop him if you're close to him he will hit you and your attack CAN be sttoped by them... i'm like 90% but i'm not sure if i will finish it.

Those cases remind me of what a video store did with their SNES cartridges. They'd gut the box, keep 3 of the sides on it, and put the box in a plastic case to make it like a custom case.
