Snes Issues

Post by Cody_D165 »

Recently I purchased a copy of Castlevania IV. Upon popping the cart in, the game boots, I can get past the title screen and see perhaps a second's worth of the first level before the game cuts to a black screen and crashes. Oddly enough however, the music continues playing.

Kind of upset, but I chalked the issue up to maybe being a bad cart and stopped playing SNES for awhile.

However recently I got my hands on a copy of Shadowrun, a game I've wanted to try for quite some time. I went back to play the game and it was working fine - until I needed to access the menus. The game plays fine until I access the menu screen where, again, the console will crash to a black screen where the music continues playing.

Now, these are the only two games so far I've encountered this issue on out of my around ~30 or so SNES games that I currently own. But, I am wondering if, because it's the same exact issue, that my console might be on the fritz? Wondering if anyone out there can give me a second opinion. I've cleaned the carts thoroughly and I honestly don't think it's the carts giving me an issue because the Shadowrun still has a save from the previous owner that's quite far into the game... but then again I'm not sure. Anyone got any ideas? :S
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who loves the Nintendo e-Reader.

I'm learning to make chiptune music in my spare time :P Check out my Soundcloud!

Once I had a few NES games that would play fine at first but then once I got to a certain point in the game the screen would start blinking and turn black. I later tested the same games with the same console on a different TV and learned that it was the TV's fault, not the games or system. Try a different tv if you have another one
