I did a quick search and remake recommendations hasn't been done here before afaik, so why not start a topic since I've lost interest for a while, meaning I might have missed a few worthy entries? All I can think of now are the Goonies 20th Anniversary(based on the original MSX game, not the NES sequel), SorR (which is of course well-known here) and Hurrican (a hi-res sequel of sorts for Turrican). Of course it wouldn't hurt to talk about official remakes like Sega's Nights Into Dreams for the PS2, but if you happened across a remake from the PC/homebrew developer community please do share!
PS - whilst not exactly a remake, Sonic Nexus' recent demo is most certainly worth a few minutes of your time!

Re: Remakes
The Dragon Quest IV remake has been taken up a lot of my time this weekend and is highly recommended especially if your a Dragon Warrior VII fan.
Re: Remakes
I'm not into JRPGs very much but thank you for your suggestion nonetheless. I've been recommended Chrono Trigger countless times so the enhanced DS version ought to prove very interesting indeed.

Re: Remakes
I really enjoyed the GBC version/remake of Zelda Link's Awakening, it stayed true to the original, while adding color and an extra dungeon, what would one want more? I also really liked the way metroid was remade with Zero Mission for the Gba, though i wouldn't say it is any better, it's just another good Metroid game imo.
