Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
There's a new rare N64 game in town: gray Turok 3 carts.

N64's got a pretty healthy set of expensive and rare variant carts. The grey "Not for Resale" Majora's Mask fetches quite a pretty penny.BoringSupreez wrote:There's a new rare N64 game in town: gray Turok 3 carts.
Speaking of N64, does anybody know why Clay Fighter: Sculptor's Cut is so pricey? I understand that it was a Blockbuster Exclusive, but there were several other N64 games that were Blockbuster Exclusives as well, and they don't fetch anywhere near the price Clay Fighter does.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I saw that Turok grey cart posted on Digital Press, immediately dug thru the shelf. Turned out I have the other Turoks and not even a black cart of Turok Rage Wars. Ah well, another game that might get spotted in the wild.AppleQueso wrote:N64's got a pretty healthy set of expensive and rare variant carts. Not sure on the Clay Fighter, maybe because a Fighter combined with Claymation digitizing?
According to the Guide:
I see Blockbuster Indiana Jones made the list, but not Blockbuster NFL Blitz Special Edition.Racketboy wrote:http://www.racketboy.com/retro/nintendo ... -n64-games
Clay Fighter 63 1/3 Sculptors Cut : $50 – $120
Released as a Blockbuster Video exclusive, Sculpter’s Cut did not get wide distribution and is now very hard to find. It is now regarded as possibly the rarest USA N64 release you can have in your collection in complete condition. You might be able to find some cartridges of this rare release at a semi-reasonable price, but because of the Blockbuster deal, it is especially difficult to find a boxed copy.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
So, I was trying to remember what Jurassic Park game I played at school when I was super young (5 or 6) that was definitely different than the original or Rampage Edition. Turns out there was a game based on The Lost World. Thing is this game appears to be quite rare. It's not expensive, but it very rarely shows up on eBay and I've never seen it since in the wild. It was released way late in 1997. And watching some gameplay on YouTube it actually appears pretty impressive. Nice color, lots of animation, and plays like the DOS game.
It's very open, has driveable vehicles, and a GPS to help you get around. Kinda neat.
Unfortunately, the only good footage of it seems to be from shitty LPs in emulators.

That's interesting! As a kid, I played The Lost World game on PS1 (it was also on Saturn, I think). It was a platformer and you started off playing as a Compy. Wasn't a great game, from what I recall...

It's not a bad one. It had a lot of problems that were solved in the Special Edition on PS1.BoneSnapDeez wrote:That's interesting! From what I've read, they fixed difficulty, hitboxes, collision detection, updated the graphics, cut some stuff out of levels, fixed the framerate drops, and fixed the crashes.
Too bad the Saturn version is the only version that was able to save properly.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
It would be awesome to make a 2p simultaneous split-screen shmup, where one player is flying through the air shooting down craft, and another player is running along the ground shooting down tanks.
The air craft would be vulnerable to tank fire, and the player on the ground, instead of dodging ship or tank bullets, would instead have to dodge the debris falling from the air battle. So, if the ground player slacked on tank kills, the air player would be overwhelmed by bullets, but if the air player killed too much, the ground player would be overwhelmed.

Yeah, that's a ridiculously cool sounding idea for a game.o.pwuaioc wrote:dunpeal2064 wrote:It would be awesome to make a 2p simultaneous split-screen shmup, where one player is flying through the air shooting down craft, and another player is running along the ground shooting down tanks.
