XBLA Suggestions?

Post by jp1 »

I have finally gotten a 360 and I am looking to beef up my library a bit with some reasonably priced xbla games. So, anything I shouldn't miss?

Currently own:
Borderlands 1 GOTY & 2
Fallout 3 GOTY
Forza 4
Skyrim
Alan Wake
Dust
Walking Dead (full game)
Dead Pixels
DLC Quest
RAW

Looking to pick up Megaman 9 and 10 if they are worth the purchase, since they are currently on sale. I am a fan of the original 8bit versions from the series.

Possibly:
Orange Box - Or should I just get Portal separate for half the price?
A good diablo 2 clone
Any fun/quirky platformers
Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Buying this for sure, already have it on Onlive but they are going down the toilet)

Any suggestions? No Shmups please, not my cup of tea.

I really enjoy Borderlands and I like 1 better than 2 so if anyone has a suggestion based on that bit of info I would appreciate it.

I don't think I even own a non-shmup XBLA game. I guess I can recommend that you get Portal separate rather than buying the Orange Box. TF2 in the Orange Box is the base version that was released way back when, so it has none of the improvements and updates of the PC version (which are vast and substantial).

Shadow Complex. I can't recommend this game enough, awesome Metroidvania action.

Also Castle Crashers and Bionic Commando: Rearmed

Banjo Kazooie/Tooie. Just as good as the original versions, but sharper graphics and better framerate.

Thanks guys. I was looking at shadow complex. I haven't played the original Banjo games either so I will have to look at those. I already have Limbo on PC.

I probably should spend more time with BL2 and Fallout3 before I make any more purchases...but I just can't help myself sometimes.

Well, with digital console games you can justify it to yourself by noting that they won't be available for purchase forever.

If you haven't already played Torchlight on PC, it is on XBLA and it plays surprisingly well.
Otherwise, there's a 3 pack of Limbo, Trials HD, and 'Splosion Man that comes on a disc. It's probably around 10 bucks.
