I think I've mentioned this in a few threads before, but Mickey's Speedway USA might be a hidden gem. It's also Rareware, and came out 3 years after Diddy Kong Racing. I've watched a few gameplay videos of it before, it looks decent. It could potentially be as good as the other two cart racers. Even if it's not as good as them, it could still be a lot of fun. I've been meaning to pick this one up for a while now, haven't gotten around to it yet.

edit: Just got a nice looking copy for $8 shipped, so we'll see soon enough!

Ziggy its a fun one, but if I remember correctly the biggest issue I had with it was that the framerate drops alot in multiplayer.

Ah, that's a shame. Especially since Diddy Kong Racing was so smooth. You'd figure it probably uses the same engine, but just updated. If there's slow down, then they "broke" it.

I was watching a gameplay video, it looks fun. Some one was playing with Mickey and fired something at Donald and said, "Take that, Donald!" (in Mickey's voice). That had me cracking up. And then you heard, "Fuck you, Mickey!" in Donald's voice. Well, I know that's not what he said. But Donald's voice coupled with a not-so-high quality video coupled with me being tired, that's what I heard.

I played it a few times, it's meh so far, but I haven't spent any extensive time with it.

How about Star Wars games? The Nintendo 64 has Rogue Squadron, Shadows of the Empire, Episode I Racer and Battle for Naboo, all of which range from pretty good to great. PS1 has Masters of Teras Kasi and Episode I - The Phantom Menace. Saturn has nothing.

Until oXbox, the best Star Wars console games were usually on Nintendo.

I felt that needed to be emphasized more.

The PlayStation also had Star Wars: Dark Forces and Rebel Assault II, both of which kicked ass.

I find this funny since all of the Star Wars game mentioned (except for Masters of Teräs Käsi) were PC games as well. ;)

I didn't think we were including PC in this discussion considering the title of the thread, and all the discussion about N64 being the best for FPS would be void for that matter, too.
