Well, once you get inside it is. A model 2 you just remove a few screws and lift off the cover. Putting back together is as simple.AppleQueso wrote:Yup.pierrot wrote: Very cool. Is the fuse replacement on the model 1 as easy as it is with the model 2?
A model 1 you have to eject the tray and pop the tray end off, then with the power off, carefully push the tray back in (makes it easier for later if it isn't cracked and locked all the way in later), remove a bunch of screws, including sideways ones from near the system connector, and make sure you keep those 2 shorter screws separate from all of the similar longer ones, carefully lift the top a bit and fish out the cable lock on the left side, lift up and to the left so you clear the system connection.
To put back together, drop the top in at an angle to get around the system connector, realize that the shiny front insert is behind one or more of the tabs, curse and lift the top up again, repeat several times until you finally have it back together with the front piece aligned properly, realize you forgot to put the cable holder back in, so lift the top a little bit a repeat the last few steps a few more times, have a drink, remember to use the 2 shorter screws you kept separate for the top holes by the system connector else you'll punch holes in the outside because they're too long, eject tray, replace tray front.
