I want to buy a console from ebay.co.uk but it will probably come with a uk power cord which is like this one:
but most of europe uses this type
so question is, if I get a power cord from a local shop, will it work without problems on a uk console? I'm 99% sure that it will since there's no difference in volt output but I still want to be 100% so I don't burn my new console.

If Greece is the same voltage as the UK as you say (240v). Then you should be fine.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
I second that. You could buy a new cord but what I've always done is used my adapter set (not voltage step up/down, but just adapter to make the plug fit). Or just get a replacement cable made for whatever console it is; don't use a generic cable for power (I've heard that if it's not made specifically for it, something about the power difference, like a 200 watt appliance versus a 20 watt appliance, that the cord could get fried).
Whenever I've been abroad to Spain/France I've just used a 'travel adaptor' basically just allows the plug to fit in euro-sockets. Doesn't do any step down or anything. I've always used that to charge my handhelds. So getting a travel adaptor would work fine.
