CD AGES, you need to put together some kind of fighter compendium for us. For cross-platform fighters, let us know which ones are the best and which ones to avoid at all costs.

If you check around vlames thread regarding definitive fighting game ports to home consoles, you will see info i've provided to the cause.

Ah, so that's where the MSH issue was found. Thanks CD AGES.

Quick question that I'm sure you've been asked before -- SFA3 on the Dreamcast... did they use mono audio (at least for the BGM), or was that just in the US version? Or is my memory acting weird again?
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

Hmm... that's news to me. You got any sources? Well the US version is the only Dreamcast version I currently own at the moment (i'm in the process of deciding if possibly purchasing one of the JPN releases of the same game would be of interest to me). Anywho, I can check for you...

UPDATE!

So I pop in Alpha 3 on my DC hooked up to my LED screen via a Performance VGA box (perhaps one of the best iterations of the VGA box for the system), I plug a set of Sony DSH studio headphones directly into the VGA box audio jack for the purest result possible (that I can think of to run this test at least). So after a few minutes of some playtime I can tell you the game audio effects and vocals are def stereo for sure. With that said though...

HOLY SHIT, THE GAMES ENTIRE BGM SOUNDS TO BE RUNNING IN MONO!!!

Wow! goodtimes. Now I feel like checking out a JPN version ASAP

I'm def gonna do some additional tests to be 100% certain (also wanna test this on PS1, PSP, DC JPN version... NO need for PS2 version and alas I can't test this on SAT ver.) About this development. TO THE BATCAVE! (Really its my room back at my parents house)

I'd really like to pick up the Saturn version of SFA3 someday. I really like that game (even if I'm not that good at it)

I have this jar of change I'm putting towards the purchase of said version. Though the Saturn Versions of the Alpha games probably won't replace my PS2 Alpha Collection...well maybe 3 The PS2 Version of Alpha 3 lacks..........everything.

Lacking everything?

Did you not know that if you play through the arcade mode in the Ps2 Alpha 3 at least once, you can then play it with the console additions (the extra characters and such) by holding start when you select it?

Ah, well yeah there's that stuff. I thought you were mainly talking about the console-exclusive characters.

I think there actually were Survival and Dramatic Battle modes in the Ps2 version though, but I can't remember.
