Sony PS1 Games Video Shakes

Post by gkarris »

I remember this problem way back.

Playing Playstation One games on an old TV - the video screen shakes up and down while playing them.

This happens on the original PS, the PSOne, and Playstation One games on the PS2 (regular and slim).

I forgot what the fix is - tried searching Google and nothing came up.

How old is the TV really?

Does it have component inputs or just RF?

On the really old knob TVs, you had to do some fine tuning.

Sometimes TVs being so old, all that screwing and unscrewing messes up the plug in the back.

Also you should check your cables to see that they aren't damaged.

Maybe you can get an old VCR and reroute the PlayStation cable through it?

This happens on one of my TV's too. The cables and PlayStations are fine, it's the TV. The TV it does this on is from 1984, but it's like only PS1 and a few PS2 games. Everything else is fine. I believe I streamed Netflix from my PS3 on it and it was fine, so IDK.
