What RPG are you playing right now?

I'm playing Kingdom Hearts right now. Thinking about starting XenoSaga after I beat it.

Well, I beat Secret of Mana with flying colors. The final boss was interesting, though it was a pretty big change from the rest of the game. I wrote about my thoughts in the 2013 games beaten thread.

Anyway, a friend has loaned me the PS2 version of The Bard's Tale, so I have begun playing it.

Just started Shining Wisdom again today. I almost beat it back in the 90s and gave up, since then my Saturn's battery died, I got a s-video cable for my Saturn in the mail today, so I started again.

Yeah, back when I was big on emulation, so admittedly about a decade ago at this point. That was about the time I discovered Live A Live too. Good times. But it's unfortunate I got to play SD3 first, as it hampered my experience a bit for Secret of Mana.

It's a good game, I won't deny it. But SD3 kinda spoils it because it is so much bigger.

Nice. I actually prefer some of SoM's aesthetics to SD3, I really dig the sprites/look of SoM (especially the water and temples) and I like the music a bit more sound wise. But yeah SD3's gameplay is the king of kings!

Someday I'd like to play/replay all the "emulation classics" - Seiken Densetsu 3, Romancing SaGa 3, Front Mission, Sailor Moon RPG, Live-A-Live, Dual Orb 2, Bahamut Lagoon, Alcahest, etc.

I'd put Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia in your "etc" there!

But yeah SD3 is one I always go back too. Timeless replay value.

Alcahest's OST is so awesome, great game.

Oh I've played tons of Star Ocean and Phantasia. I have the physical carts.

I always wondered why Romancing Saga 3 got a fan translation, but not 1 or 2.
