The guy was fantastic in the ring in his prime. He could really move for such a big guy. But his promos were freaking crazy. I need an interpreter to understand what he's saying most of the time.TheRev wrote:I hate Hogan HATE HOGAN. Growing up I was a Macho Man guy. (RIP)
And what's incestuous on TNA? I must have missed that.
I agree for the most part on the state of wrestling as a whole. But I felt that during the lead-up to Royal Rumble that WWE really started picking up their game. I did feel entertained during the last couple of Raws and Smackdowns, rather than feeling like fast-forwarding through half of it.
I just hope it isn't a repeat of TNA. This last year, TNA seemed to be getting good again. Giving us great matches between guys like James Storm, Mr. Anderson, Robert Roode, and Austin Aries. But the last month or 2 just took all that progress, and flushed it down the crapper. They've completely mishandled Aces & Eights which started out with great promise. And this Bully Ray and Brooke Hogan bullshit is just ridiculous.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
To be fair, WWE was going to do an incest angle with Paul Burchil and Katie Lee a.k.a. Winter from TNA. If you watch some of their appearances together in the WWE the signs are clearly there.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I'm the biggest Cena hater, but I liked his promo tonight. He put over Punk and Rock in a BIG way. He basically admitted that he simply cannot seem to beat either one of them and that he'd have better odds going after the Smackdown champion, which wasn't really a slam on Smackdown but I know some people are going to take it that way. It's really illuminating to hear Cena say out loud that Punk has defeated him SIX FREAKING TIMES!
So yeah, I'm man enough to admit when Cena does something good.

but yeah...that doesn't seem to be an on screen thing my b...
Aces and Eights...where careeers go to die. I think a better name for them would be WWE's Sloppy Seconds.
Austin Aries as Champ ALMOST had me watching again. Robert Roode should be a HUGE star but he's languishing in TNA Always thought Eric Young was under Ultilized too. It's Criminal what they did to him before he left. He was like a Pro Wrestling Version of Adam Sessler.
As for Mach?
I give you this Foleyesque Promo
Re: The Wrestling Thread
Brock Lesnar Killing Vince single handedly saved this Raw well besides the Rock and his always awesome promos.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I'll give the WWE credit for this much, I love how they use Heyman. After tonight's Raw we know for a fact that The Shield, Lesnar, and of course Punk are ALL tied to him and they've frankly been positioned as the most dominant guys in the WWE. We just don't see a whole lot in the way of factions and managers these days so I do sort of enjoy that. Still, I don't want to see Triple H and Lesnar again, but you know there are people out there (like BurningDoom) who eat this up
I love the way Paul freaks out all the time, like he's got all these bad asses under his employ that he can't control and none of them know what lines not to cross. I just freaking wish we could see ALL FREAKING FIVE OF THEM together united. That would be so goddamn bad ass to just see the five of them say, "Screw this! We own the WWE now!" with Paul standing behind them with his hand on his head as if to say, "What the hell have I created?"
EDIT: Lesnar has the baddest theme music in the WWE. That shit gets me pumped!

The three reasons I still stick with this shit. CM Punk, Paul E and Dolph Ziggler.
The Shield is awesome but I kind of wish they'd go their separate ways Dean Ambrose is Gold Look at this old promo of his from CZW when he was Jon Moxley

Re: The Wrestling Thread
They will eventually. No need to rush. The Shield is being used really well right now so they'll keep them together a while longer. By the way, I fucking LOVED seeing The Shield steamroll over Cena, Sheamus, AND Rybak. Holy fuck! They looked like MONSTERS tonight. THAT'S what I want to see more of from The Shield. Three on three? Big deal. We're heels, we fight smarter and we STILL win. This was a good example of heel versus face psychology. If Sheamus and Rybak weren't dumbass, proud faces, they'd have come out TOGETHER. This was booked so much better than that time Orton and Sheamus came out to save Rybak from the Shield on Raw. It makes more sense that a disorganized, babyface assault would fail against three guys who are smart enough to work together at all times. I'm one of those guys who generally likes heels over faces, and it's because heels fight SMART.TheRev wrote:The three reasons I still stick with this shit. CM Punk, Paul E and Dolph Ziggler.

You mentioned Ziggler, I don't know where they are going with Ziggler/Jericho. Ziggler going over on Jericho in this feud is pointless, as he outdid Jericho in their last feud. Jericho needs to be built up a bit as he jobbed too many times in his last run, but I don't really want to see Ziggler losing too much either as he desperately needs to be built up more right now. So I don't really know what I want to see out of this feud, but I expect some great matches and probably some great mic work. We could get some really fun interactions between Jericho and AJ. It would be so great if they could recapture some of that Jericho/Stephanie magic. I would kind of like to see Ziggler cash in on Del Rio or Show and feud with Jericho over the title all the way to Mania. Have Del Rio beat show again at Elimination Chamber to keep him looking strong, and have Ziggler cash in to add some spice to the Ziggler/Jericho feud. Then trow Del Rio in the Mania Money in the Bank match

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Cena's best work is when he's chasing the belt I mean, it's the same thing we've heard 100x - but he's passionate about it. I don't believe him because his character sucks but it's passable.Gamerforlife wrote:I'm the biggest Cena hater, but I liked his promo tonight. He put over Punk and Rock in a BIG way.
