I usually put on my trendy eyeglasses, set my Dolly Parton records to continuous play, and wolf down cheese and crackers. It isn't for everyone, but it works for us.

There are plenty of fighting games to choose from, I have Street Fighter 4 AE, KOF XIII, Ultimate MvC 3, MK9, and have no problem picking up a game if we all agree on one (like I did with VF 5)
