TheGrimAngel's Game Wall 01/25/13

Post by TheGrimAngel »

I just spent the last 2 weeks cataloging my entire collection into Excel. All I have left is my Wonderswan stuff, and I am procrastinating doing that part...

So I decided to take some pictures of my collection and post them.

This is my Game Wall. 1300+ Games. However not as much retro stuff as i'd like. That is currently what i am focusing on expanding, specifically CIB Gameboy stuff. Once I am able to(still gotta wait a week because I'm a new member :| ) I will be posting some things in the BST board to trade / sell.

Sorry about the glares and not so good quality, the only camera I have is the one in my Windows 8 Phone.

Game Wall
Along the top is all of my CIB consoles, however I still have other consoles, SNES, Dreamcast, PS1+2 and N64 that are not boxed atm, but I am either searching for a box.
Image
Collectors Editions
I went through a time where I was obsessed with Collectors Editions of games. I am slowly realizing that I'll probably never use the extra DVD's and art books that are inside of these, and I have started trading them off to people.
Image

Image
Wii / WiiU
Lots of Wii games, quite a few hard to find ones like Xenoblade Chronicles and One Piece Ultimate Adventure. Wii U still small but will likely grow soon as I really like the system.
Image

Image
Gamecube
Nothing to special but a couple of awesome Japanese Gamecube games, like D.O.N. and Zoids Full Metal Crash
Image
Xbox / Xbox 360
Nothing special as well, but I have a couple Japanese games here as well.
Image

Image
GB / GBC / GBA / DS / 3DS
This is what i am focusing primarily on right now. I am really getting into CIB Gameboy stuff. A few of these are empty boxes but I am working on filling them up.
Image
PS1 / PS2 / PS3 / PSP
I do not have much for the PS3, I have only been buying PS3 exclusives.
Image

Image
SNES / N64
I focus on collecting boxed SNES and N64 stuff only, I do not really like having loose carts.
Image
NES
The only system I havent bothered trying to collect boxes for. Also in the picture are my loose N64 carts that I need boxes for.
Image
Genesis / Saturn / Dreamcast
Yes those are Chaos Emeralds  Also still got some loose Genesis games I need boxes for.
Image

Image
Super Famicom / Japanese N64
I spent a year in Tokyo, Japan and amassed quite a decent collection of Japanese games.
Image
Neo Geo AES
I really like my Neo Geo AES stuff. It's all Japanese games, so I will likely have to wait until I go back there again to continue this collection. Unless I can find someone who wants to trade.
Image
Wonderswan
My favorite handheld! If my count is correct I am about 75-80% done with this collection, but like my Neo Geo stuff I have to wait until I go back to Japan again to continue this collection.
Image
Famicom / Japanese GB / PC-FX
On the right is every single Famicom Pulse cart CIB and some other random games, and on the left is every Pokemon game for the GB and GBC CIB except for Crystal. Also I have a decent amount of PC-FX games. However most of them are Dating sims  Cause thats what about 90% of the system is.
Image
Miscellaneous
This is all my random stuff I either cannot figure out the best way to display or will be selling soon.
I have a 95% complete Ngage collection, just missing 4 games. Some Microvision games CIB, a couple atari 7800 games CIB, some sealed Magnavox Odyssey 2 games, and some CIB Casio Loopy Games.
Image
Let me know what you think.
I am not to happy with how it is all displayed. I will probably be getting some more bookshelves to more better utilize the space in these bookcases, as there is a lot of unused space above a lot of the games. And probably some downsizing by selling or trading some stuff off when I get a chance.

Thanks, I've been collecting for about 5 years. I've been gaming since I was 9 or 10, I am 23 now.
However it wasn't until I was 18 that I stopped being dumb and began keeping things, instead of stupidly taking them to Gamestop to trade them in.

Ironically I now work at Gamestop

Excellent collection and very nicely laid out thread - thank you for sharing.

Couple questions - do you speak Japanese then? I liked wonderswan, but so many games were text heavy that I couldn't justify it for the couple shooters, though Judgement almost merited it on its own.

Have you considered shorter gaps in your shelving so your boxed games can be stored vertically (and not on top of each other)?

Nice AES stuff as well.

I recently went to Japan for a year to attend college there and study the language. I was only about a hour away from Akihabara by train. I can speak Japanese a lot better then i can read it, but I know enough to have been able to play through quite a few of these games with minimal hassle. Though for some of the RPG's I played I needed a dictionary near by for some parts.

Your idea is basically what I was originally planning. But I am considering those large metal bookcases that places like Bestbuy sell with adjustable shelves, because getting new book shelves cut might be expensive. I dont like having some of my games stacked on top of each other, but its the most efficient way I've found so far.

and Thanks I like my AES stuff to :D really happy my friend (piginthemud) convinced me to start collecting it like he did, because the games are so much cheaper in Japan.

I don't really do much with Atari stuff. All I got is a boxed 7800 those 6 cib games and Custer's Revenge. I've been thinking I'd sell or trade them off for some things that will go better with my collection.

If you have a CE of the first Bioshock, we might be able to work something out...

But that's a great collection man, beautiful. I love it, and the whole thing is so clean.
