Not to argue that gaming is dying, but these numbers are meaningless without context. What's being sold here? Does this include mobile gaming? Does this include indie games? Humble bundles? What's the percentages? Saying that physical media is declining really isn't in support of the idea that gaming as it is right now is stable and healthy. If anything, it indicates a shift already happening.
NPD is U.S. retail sales of physical media.

The other "revenue" figures I assume comes from a consideration of the profits reported by game-related companies (including mobile stuff, I would assume). Neither system obviously is perfect, but it is at least a healthy measure of the industry.

I thought THQ will forever make wrestling games , just like Nintendo will forever make Mario. Plus I thought they made loads out of this license agreement. None the less, its about time to see a change in this genre , its been the same since about 2001 I think.
They may have made something, but word was they owed the WWE a lot of $ over the remainder of their previous deal.

Yukes actually made the games, THQ published them, so not sure if members of the Yukes team will be brought in to Take Two. I would guess so, especially since that is a yearly release and there is no time for a start-from-scratch game at this juncture.

Fortunately WWE '13 is really good - and they've had two great DLC add-ons. There's really nothing missing from the current and Attitude-era rosters, plus the custom creations you can download online are usually really good. That one should hold up for a while.

Hey Ds, is there any sort of statistics comparing physical and digital sales by international region across all major platforms, including Steam?

Not that I know of.

Also, AFAIK Steam numbers aren't released at all. I would guess that Valve's reported yearly earnings are part of the global figure, but I think they don't have to be specific about what makes what there since they aren't a public company.

I don't get it. In number 3 they just talk why the game is better than Gears of War and say that's one of the reasons why the company failed? Sure it's not as good as the RTS WH 40K games but seems like a solid action game to me.
And it's funny they should mentioned Pitfighter, as horrible as it is. That game was released in 1991, over 20 years ago. Yup, it's definately a major contributor to the fact that they went bankrupt now. It just took some time for people to get angry about it.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

I think they flip to reasons why THQ was great for 1-3.
