Just passed my drivers license test!

Post by scarper »

After years of being old enough to do it, I finally got around to going to the DMV. Passed it on my first try.

Lady at DMV: "You should wear a headband whenever you drive to keep your hair out of your eyes."
Me: "I usually wear a hat."
Lady at DMV: "You will wear a headband!!...."
Me: "...Okay."

Turns out hats can obstruct your view.

I feel freedom seeping from every pore.

Be careful out there dude, we have a ton of terrible drivers here, and remember the left lane is for faster traffic so don't get get in it and do 55 unless you want cars on your bumper. Oh and from 4 to 7 avoid 94, it's insane.

Congrats though. I failed twice before I passed my drivers test.

Nice!

I didn't get a license until I was 20.

Drivers up here are indeed crazy. I drove some when I had my permit, so I at least have a little experience with our local drivers going 20+ over the speed limit. I also now know to completely avoid Snelling Ave during rush hour. And driving with your screaming younger sister with her other equally loud friend is not a good idea. No accidents. Not yet. Hopefully none ever.

Did you take your test at the place in Eagan? Thats where I had mine. It was pretty chill.

I got mine when I was 17, took three tries before I nailed it. It's a great thing being able to go anywhere though.

I'm jealous.

I'm moving onto being 2 years late on it. In all honesty, I need it soon. Seeing as I live out in the boondocks of sorts, its about ten miles from my house to any town. Also, seeing that, its hard to pick up women when you can't take them anywhere.

But congrats dude, that's great. (And screw the headband.)

Yea took the test at the Eagan spot. The first time I failed one of the parallel parking flags was bent and they wouldn't fix it so I hit like I told them I would since it wasn't how it was supposed to be set. The second time I failed there were a ton of ducks in the lane I was supposed to turn into so I went in the other lane so I didn't run over the ducks and they failed me for that lol. They also told me I didn't look over my shoulder enough, on a closed course with no one near me... I passed the third time no problem though, joking about how I failed before with the tester.

Yea I drive over the speed limit but only when I'm on the freeway. Actually there is a great short cut off Snelling. I can't remember what it's called but you probably know it, that mill road, thing is a life saver.

Also beware of Somalians. I don't understand how any of them have licenses. I've been hit numerous times by them on my bike and have been cut off and forced to slam on my brakes to many times to count while driving. We have the largest Somali population in the country if you didn't know. I also live close to Cedar Riverside so that doesn't help either.
