Getting rid of smoke smell?

Does anyone have tips on getting rid of smoke smell from game consoles and boxes? I bought a boxed console but everything (console, box, manual) has a hint of smoke smell when I take a close sniff.

Only a hint of smoke smell?
Throw some fabric softener sheets in the box.
